Hanami

Today instead of working I have been learning all about Hanami. Hanami is the Japanese art/study/celebration of flower observation. Though the term litterally translates to "Flower Veiwing" it is almost always referring to the beloved Cherry Blossom.

Hanami is an anual event held across Japan. In modern-day Japan, hanami mostly consists of a wicked excuse to party under the sakura trees (AKA- Cherry Blossom).
Behold the party people....

My boss lived in Japan. He tells me that the pronuciation of the Kanji for "flower viewing" is very close to the Kanji pronuciation for "nose viewing". Your choice...flowers or noses. Both valid reasons to celebrate.

Follow the link above and learn a little today, Love the Japanese a little more than you did yesterday, And stay tuned for the posting to honor Obon soon to come....I only have two days remaining to be proper.

Jaa, mata atashita (see you later)
